Exploring Organizations

Exploring Organizations starts with a robust search tool enabling the discovery of specific organizations by name, terms relating to associated brands, divisions, and subsidiaries. Potential matches are offered as terms are entered in a dropdown menu. Once an organization or term is searched, or a match is selected, the set of matching organizations or organizations with matching terms is displayed.


Searching organizations finds matches for both organization names and related terms.


  1. Search a name or term.
    1. Type a name or term.
    2. Matching names and terms appear as a list of potential matches in both categories.
  1. Choose from a list of organizations that match the name or term searched.
    1. Searching a name will list organizations that include the name searched.
    2. Searching terms will match possible matches within organizations, like subsidiaries, brands, and divisions.

Organization View

Once an organization or term is searched, or a match is selected, the set of matching organizations or organizations with matching terms is displayed.

  1. Organization View screen.
    1. The Organization View screen shows data relating to that organization.
      Organization data is only available for organizations already subscribed to.
    2. Data is organized into four tabs:
      • Top Parent Summary
      • The organization’s Lines of Business
      • The organization’s Logical Hierarchy
      • Top Parent Competitors

Compare Organizations

Exploring Organizations starts with a robust search tool enabling the discovery of specific organizations by name, terms relating to associated brands, divisions, and subsidiaries. Potential matches are offered as terms are entered in a dropdown menu. Once an organization or term is searched, or a match is selected, the set of matching organizations or organizations with matching terms is displayed.

  1. Organization comparisons are done through the Top Parent Competitors view.
    1. Top Parent Competitors tab shows all companies that have at least one common industry or share at least one industry group.
    2. Columns show the number of shared groups and industries to the top parent company.
    3. Clicking COMPARE opens a knowledge graph showing comparison data.
  1. Resulting comparisons are displayed as a knowledge graph.
    1. Shared industries appear between competitors.
    2. Industries exclusive to each competitor appear to the left and right.
    3. Clicking on an industry group reveals the common industries with that group.
    4. Clicking on an industry opens a new knowledge graph showing other top competitors that share that industry, creating a new way to discover competitors.
